Green Cove Springs – The Clay County Clerk of the Circuit Court, Tara S. Green, is proud to share welcomed news related to a special recognition earned by the staff of the Clerk’s Recording Department. She congratulates Recording Department Director Debbie Thacker and her staff for their handling of our federal government’s Passport Application Acceptance Program, which led to a perfect score on a recent Acceptance Facility Review Report. This means Clay County clerks are operating at the highest level possible in regards to providing secure travel documents to citizens.
As noted in a letter of recognition from the Department of State, the assessment of our local passport operation included one-on-one interviews, inspections of our facility and security measures, and real-time observation of our clerks working with the public to process their passport applications. Our region includes more than three hundred facilities providing this service, and Clay County Clerk of Court staff have now been recognized as one of the best.
Tracie McRae, Chief Deputy Clerk, commented on the outstanding job done by the clerks. “The handling of the passport applications is oftencomplex and very time consuming as thousands are processed annually,” she said. “This is a great achievement.”
