Clerk’s Office Selected as Community Advocate of the Year by GAL
A surprise award presentation was made by Guardian Ad Litem Victim Advocate Manager Lisa Johnson to Clay County Clerk Tara S. Green last week at the Clay County Courthouse in Green Cove Springs. Every year our staff purchases Christmas gifts for children in the Guardian Ad Litem Program. Each child receives 5-8 wrapped gifts – toys, clothing, cozy blankets, school and art supplies, treats and more. This year Clerk’s Office personnel provided gifts to fifteen (15) children between the ages of 10 months and nine years of age. A gift is also provided for the caregiver of these children.
Clerk Green considers this annual effort a true labor of love which demonstrates how helpful and caring her employees are. “Our Clerks look forward to this effort every year because they feel it exhibits their true Christmas spirit,” Green said. “This unexpected nomination and recognition from the GAL staff is an honor for our whole team.”
